• Chairman John Whitbeck Statement on Events in Charlottesville

“The Republican Party was created to end slavery in the mid-1800’s and our Party today continues to stand for equality for all persons regardless of their race or ethnicity. We condemn the hatred and racism on display today in Charlottesville and note that there is nothing conservative about messages of that nature.”

“Virginia Republicans, Democrats and Independents are all unified in rejecting their message.”

  • Chairman Whitbeck: Barbara Comstock the Only Choice in CD 10

RPV Chairman John Whitbeck offered the following statement:

“This morning’s debate in Fairfax was yet another resounding win for Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (VA-10). Barbara has the experience, policy expertise and character we need in Washington. Barbara once again showed today she has a command of the real issues facing the 10th District and that she is the only choice on November 8. Democrat LuAnne Bennett, on the other hand, is a self-avowed rubber stamp for Hillary Clinton’s higher tax, job killing policies and out-of-touch with the District, especially considering how little time she has spent there.”

“Considering her debate performances, her leadership in the District over the last two years and her significant cash-on-hand advantage, Congresswoman Barbara Comstock has all the momentum as the campaign moves through the final weeks.”

  • Whitbeck: Kaine Abandons Integrity for Clinton, Inc.

RPV Chairman John Whitbeck issued the following statement on Hillary Clinton’s selection of Tim Kaine as her running mate:

It is no surprise that Hillary Clinton has chosen Tim Kaine to be her running mate. In recent weeks, Tim Kaine has demonstrated his willingness to defend the indefensible, simply to avoid the heartbreak of being left at the altar a second time.

Virginians know the real Tim Kaine – the Governor who breaks his promises not to raise taxes, and who shuts down rest stops to blackmail the legislature into raising taxes. They know the U.S. Senator who shifts to the left when he thinks he has a chance at higher office.

Virginians know this Tim Kaine all too well. We look forward to educating our fellow Americans about the real Tim Kaine.”John Whitbeck, RPV Chairman

  • Chairman Whitbeck: SCOVA Ruling Establishes Terry McAuliffe is Not Above the Law

Today’s ruling sends a clear message – executive power has limits, and no one in Virginia is above the law. Terry McAuliffe’s decision to break with centuries of precedent in a blatant effort to stack the deck for Hillary Clinton in November was nothing but a naked power grab. The Supreme Court’s order makes it clear that the Constitution of Virginia, not personal policy preference, rules in Virginia. We are extremely proud that the Republican Leadership in the General Assembly stood up to this Executive Order gone too far. John Whitbeck, RPV Chairman

  • Statement from RPV Chairman John Whitbeck on Mrs. Clinton Visiting Virginia Today

With the Democratic Primary going down to the wire – Governor McAuliffe’s number one priority, Hillary Clinton, is in the Commonwealth trying to connect with voters. Despite the spin and show put on by her campaign, Mrs. Clinton has stated she’ll continued the failed policies of the Obama Administration while failing to address the real concerns of Virginians. The Obama/Clinton/McAuliffe agenda is a disaster for Virginia and the voters know it.

We need to fix our healthcare system, streamline our taxation system and  expand jobs and opportunity in the Commonwealth, not put coal workers out of business like Mrs. Clinton has bragged before. John Whitbeck, RPV Chairman

  • Update on the RPV Convention

The Republican Party of Virginia has confirmed that Donald J. Trump will NOT be attending the 2016 RPV Convention in Harrisonburg this weekend. Despite media reports to the contrary, Trump was never scheduled to speak at the convention.

We are honored any time any of our candidates visit the Commonwealth. Donald Trump has already visited Virginia on many occasions, and will no doubt return again in the near future.

RPV looks forward to working with our nominee for President to secure Virginia’s 13 Electoral Votes and ensuring that Hillary Clinton returns to the private sector. We hope this clarifies the situation.

We ask that media outlets that have passed on incorrect information to the public correct their stories as soon as possible.

  • Thank you for your application

Thank you for submitting your application to the 2016 Republican Party of Virginia Quadrennial Convention, held April 29-30, 2016 in Harrisonburg, VA.
