Davis Campaign Clears RPV Petition Pre-Check
— Candidate is second Lt. Governor campaign to submit, verify petition signatures —
The Republican Party of Virginia is pleased to announce that Glenn Davis is the second Republican candidate for Lt. Governor to submit signatures for “pre-check” review by the RPV and for submission to the State Board of Elections.
RPV reviewed the signatures on the petitions submitted and the Davis Campaign passed the pre-check process with significantly more signatures than required to meet the 10,000 statewide and 400 per Congressional District requirements of Virginia law.
“Every potential member of our 2017 ticket knows the importance of grassroots engagement this year. Grassroots efforts like these are building the infrastructure for GOP wins in November,” said RPV Chairman John Whitbeck. “Delegate Davis’s team and volunteers have done an extraordinary job, and I’m pleased to announce that they’ve met the standards to appear on the 2017 Virginia primary ballot.”
“Our robust campaign infrastructure of over 200 volunteers was on full display today at RPV and we couldn’t be more grateful. Glenn is more enthusiastic than ever as we approach victory in June,” said Davis for Lt. Governor Political Director Beck Stanley. “Republicans deserve a hard-charging business leader like Glenn on their statewide ticket. We look forward to victory in November.”
All statewide Virginia GOP candidates have been invited to submit their signatures for pre-clearance before the deadline at the end of March. Virginia will hold a primary on June 13, 2017.
