Dranesville Magisterial District Mass Meeting of the Fairfax County Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia
As Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia, and pursuant to The Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Tim Hannigan, do hereby issue this call for a DRANESVILLE MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT MASS MEETING to be held at LAMBERT HALL, SMITH CHAPEL, UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 11321 Beach Mill Road, Great Falls, VA 22066, starting at 7:00 PM local time on June 10 for the purposes of: (a) nominating a Republican candidate for the office of SUPERVISOR to be voted for in the general election on November 5, 2019; and (b) for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the mass meeting.
Qualifications for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of the Dranesville Magisterial District under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions, or primaries encompassing their respective election districts. Voter proxies are not authorized. A government-issued photo ID will be required as proof of identity.
Filing Requirements
Candidates for the election or nomination at this mass meeting shall email a written statement of intent to Tim Hannigan, Fairfax County Republican Committee Chairman, at [email protected], or deliver it to the headquarters of the Fairfax County Republican Committee at 4246 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030. The deadline to file shall be 12:00 PM, June 10 local time. Postmarks do not count. Candidates may direct questions regarding the nominating process to the Committee Chairman at the above email address or by telephone at 703-766-4467.
If no candidates submit a written statement of intent by the filing deadline, then the mass meeting will be canceled. If only one candidate submits a written statement of intent by the filing deadline, then the Fairfax County Republican Committee Chairman may, at his discretion, declare that candidate to be the Republican nominee and then cancel the mass meeting.
Registration Fee
There will be no registration fee to participate in this mass meeting.
