OFFICIAL CALL
Electing Delegates to the State Convention
Powhatan County Republican Committee

As Chairman of the Powhatan County Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended by the Committee, I, Steve W Jenkins, do hereby issue this call to elect delegates to the May 8, 2021 State Convention at which candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General will be selected between 9 am and 4 pm.

Qualifications for Participation

All legal and qualified voters of Powhatan County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Filing Requirements
Those wishing to serve as delegates to the State Convention must file a Delegate form. The form is available upon request from Steve W Jenkins at [email protected] or at  athttps://virginia.gop/assets/uploads/2021/03/Delegate-Form-Fillable.pdf The Delegate form must be received no later than 5pm on April 19, 2021. Postmark shall not govern. Forms must be legible to be counted.

Pursuant to Art. VII and Art. XII of the Party Plan, all individuals who qualify under Art. I will be declared elected and no mass meeting, party canvass or convention will be held to elect delegates.

Registration Fee
There will be no registration fee to a delegate to the State Convention.

Publication
This call will be published at www.powhatangop.org and www.virginiagop.com. The Unit Committee has eliminated the requirement to publish this call in a newspaper of general circulation by a two-thirds vote.
