SUMMARY:2018 Roanoke County Republican Mass Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Official Call\nMass Meeting of the\nRoanoke County Republican Party \nAs Chairman of the Roanoke County Committee of the Republican Party\, and pursuant to the Plan Of Organization and as recommended and directed by the committee\, I\, Gene Rose\, do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the South County Library\, located at 6303 Merriman Road\, Roanoke\, Virginia or an alternative location starting at 6:30 p.m. local time on March 22\, 2018 for the following purposes:\na) Electing the Roanoke County Republican Party Chairman for the 2018-2020 term;\nb) Electing members of the Roanoke County Republican Committee for the 2018-2020 term as follows: up to 398 precinct members\, respectively\, and up to 119 at-large members;\nc) Electing up to 275 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Ninth District Convention\, to be held on April 21\, 2018 at George Wythe High School 1 Maroon Way\, Wytheville\, Virginia or alternative location\, starting at 10 AM local time for the following purpose:\n1. Electing the Chairman for the Ninth Congressional District of the Republican Party of Virginia for the 2018-2020 term;\nd) Electing up to 1915 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Sixth District Republican Convention to be held on Saturday\, May 19\, 2018 at the JMU Convocation Center\, 895 University Blvd.\, Harrisonburg\, VA 22807\, or an alternative location\, starting at 10 A. M. for the following purposes:\n1. Electing a Chair for the Sixth Congressional District of the Republican Party of Virginia for the 2018- 2020 term;\n2. Electing a nominee to be the Sixth District Republican Congressional candidate;\n3. Electing three Regional Vice Chairmen for the Sixth Congressional District of the\nRepublican Party of Virginia for the 2018-2020 term; \ne) And for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Mass Meeting. \nQualifications for Participation\nAll legal and qualified voters under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia\, regardless of race\, religion\, national origin or sex\, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party\, and who\, if requested\, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings\, party canvasses\, conventions\, or primaries encompassing their respective election districts. \nA voter who\, subsequent to making a statement of intent\, publicly supports a candidate in opposition to a Republican nominee shall not be qualified for participation in party actions for a period of four years. \nIn addition to the foregoing\, to be in accord with the principles of the Republican Party\, a person otherwise qualified hereunder shall not have participated in Virginia in the nomination process of a party other than the Republican Party within the last five years. A single exception to 4 shall be approved for a voter that renounces affiliation with any other party in writing\, and who expresses in writing that he/she is in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and intends\, at the time of the writing\, to support the nominees of the Republican Party in the future. Any voter that utilizes the foregoing exception\, and thereafter participates in the nomination process of a party other than the Republican Party\, shall not have the benefit of the exception thereafter. Within 30 days of receipt\, the Official Committee shall provide a copy of this signed renunciation statement to the Republican Party of Virginia\, to be maintained for a period of five years. \nFiling Requirements\nCandidates for election as Roanoke County Republican Party Chairman must prefile a written statement of their intent on a form provided by the Committee to Roanoke County Republican Committee\, PO Box 20923\, Roanoke\, VA 24018 or by physical delivery to 5902 Bighorn Dr.\, Roanoke\, VA\, which must be received not later than 12:00 p.m.\, noon\, on January 31\, 2018.
