ONLY ONE CANDIDATE FILED FOR OFFICE.  \nAs Chairman of the 7th Senate District Committee of the Republican Party\, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee\, I\, Donald J Plaster\, do hereby issue this call for a Legislative District Party Canvass to be held at: \n• Philippine Cultural Center of Virginia\, 4857 Baxter Rd\, Virginia Beach\, VA 23462 (for voters in the District in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach) from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM local time on Saturday November 19\, 2022 for the purpose of nominating a Republican candidate for the office of Senator to be voted for in the Special Election anticipated on January 10\, 2023.  \nAny persons with a religious exception to the date of the canvas may cast an in-person absentee ballot at: \n• Republican Party of Virginia Beach\, 505 S Independence Blvd\, Virginia Beach\, VA 23452 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM local time on Friday November 18\, 2022. \nFiling RequirementsCandidates for the Republican nomination at said canvass shall file a written statement by postal mail or in person\, to  \nDonald J Plaster\, SD7 LDC  \nc/o Republican Party of Virginia Beach505 S Independence BlvdVirginia Beach\, VA 23452 \nWhich must be received not later than 4pm on Thursday November 17\, 2022. The filing statement shall include the candidate’s full legal name\, voting residence address in the District\, email address and telephone number. A filing fee of $700.00 shall accompany the filing statement\, made payable to “Republican Party of Virginia Beach”. The Committee will meet with representatives of the properly filed candidates to review the Canvass Rules and the venue on Friday November 18\, 2022 at 9am-10am at the voting location specified above.
