Williams High School\, 3801 W. Braddock Rd.\, Alexandria\, VA 22302\, starting at 7:30 pm local time on Thursday June 6\, 2019 for the following purpose: \n\na) Nominating a Republican candidate for the office of the 45th House of Delegates District to be voted for in the General Election on 11/05/2019. \n\n\nQualifications for Participation \n\nAll legal and qualified voters of the 45th House of Delegates District under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia\, regardless of race\, religion\, national origin\, or sex\, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who\, if requested\, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required\, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election\, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings\, party canvasses\, conventions\, or primaries encompassing their respective election districts. \n\nFiling Requirements \n\nCandidates for the nomination or election at said Canvass shall file a packet including: \n1) A written statement of no more than 500 words on the candidate’s interest in the office and that provides proper contact information; \n2) At least 100 valid signatures of voters registered in the 45th House of Delegates District (using the Petition of Qualified Voters form); \n3) A non-refundable $100 filing fee in the form of a check payable to the Alexandria Republican City Committee. \n\nThese three (3) items must be submitted by mail to Andrew Lund at 726 S. Fayette Street Unit 32 Alexandria\, VA 22314 and must be received (postmarks do not count) no later than May 20\, 2019.  The purpose of this deadline is to allow sufficient time for the 45th House of Delegates Legislative District Committee to validate the signatures submitted and to process materials for the Party Canvas.  As a result of these requirements\, nominations will not be taken from the floor of the Party Canvas. \n\nRegistration Fee \n\nThere will be no registration fee to participate in this Canvass. \n\nPaid for and authorized by the 45th House of Delegates Legislative District Republican Committee.

DESCRIPTION:OFFICIAL CALL \nFIREHOUSE PRIMARY of the Tazewell County Republican Party.  \nAs Chairman of the Tazewell County Republican and pursuant to the plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the committee\, I Kyle Cruey\, do hereby issue this call for a Firehouse Primary beginning at 10:00 A.M. local time and ending at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday\, May\,4\, 2019 at the following location. \n515 Fairgrounds Road \,Tazewell \,Virginia \,24651 \nFor the following purposes \nA. Electing a Republican candidate for the following positions\, Treasurer\, Commonwealth Attorney\, Commissioner of Revenue\, Sheriff\, and Board of Supervisors for the Northwestern\, Northern and Eastern District who will appear on the November 5\,2019 General Election ballot as the Republican Nominee. Anyone may attend Firehouse Primary but only registered voters from Tazewell County may vote for their respective candidates.  \nCandidate Filing Requirements \nAll persons who wish to have their names placed on the ballot as a candidate for election at said Fire House Primary shall file the following before the pre-Filing Deadline on April 29\, 2019 at 5pm.  \n1.A Letter of Intent\, \n2.Sign a Loyalty Oath \n3.A filing fee of ($1000.00 – One thousand dollars ) for Constitutional Offices and $200 ( two hundred dollars) for Board of Supervisors to the Tazewell County Republican Committee. The check for the filing fee should be written out to the Tazewell County Republican Party. The fee should be paid for prior to the pre file deadline of Monday April 29 at 5pm( Postmarks do not govern). The filing fee for incumbents will be waived. The First Candidate to file will have their name placed first on the ballot\, if two candidates file at the same time a coin toss will determine the order of the candidate on the ballot. Candidate who receives the plurality of the votes cast shall be the nominee. If only one candidate applies they shall be deemed the nominee and the respective Firehouse Primary shall be cancelled. \nRules; The Tazewell County Republican Committee may from time to time establish rules by which to determine candidates as the need arises. \nVoters Eligibility; Voters who are registered as of Friday April 29\,2019 and prior thereto are eligible to vote in the firehouse primary. \nWrite- in Candidates; Write-in candidates will not be allowed in the firehouse primary and any vote for a write-in candidate will not be recognized. \nThere will be no absentee or early voting. \nRecount-If a 2% or less difference in the vote totals of the top two candidates occurs\, a automatic recount will be preformed.\, \n  \nQualifications for Participation \nAll legal and qualified voters of the Tazewell County\, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia\, regardless of race\, religion\, national origin or sex\, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who\, if requested\, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required\, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election\, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings\, party canvasses\, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.
