DESCRIPTION:As Chairman of the Culpeper County Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia\, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee\, I\, Jon D. Russell Committee Chairman\, do hereby issue this call for a Party Canvass to be held at 601 Madison Rd. Culpeper\, VA\, or at any alternate location\, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm local time  on April 27th\, 2019 for the following purpose of selecting our Republican Nominees for the positions  of Commonwealth Attorney\, Sheriff\, Treasurer\, Commissioner of the Revenue\, and County Board of Supervisors for the Catalpa\, East Fairfax\, Salem\, and West Fairfax  Districts of Culpeper County. \nQualifications for Participation \nAll legal and qualified voters in the County of Culpeper under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia\, regardless of race\, religion\, national origin or sex\, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party\, and who\, if requested\, express either orally or in writing as may be required their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings\, party canvasses\, conventions\, or primaries encompassing their respective election districts. \nIn addition to the foregoing\, to be in accord with the principles of the Republican Party\, a person otherwise qualified hereunder shall not have participated in Virginia in the nomination process of a party other than the Republican Party after June 9\, 2015. A single exception to this restriction shall be approved for a voter that renounces affiliation with any other party in writing\, and who expresses in writing that he/she is in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and intends\, at the time of the writing\, to support the nominees of the Republican Party in the future. Any voter that utilizes the foregoing exception\, and thereafter participates in the nomination process of a party other than the Republican Party\, shall not have the benefit of the exception thereafter. \n  \nFiling Requirements \nCandidates for nomination at said Party Canvass shall file a Candidate Consent Form by USPS mail\, to Barby Mouring at 13240 Windmill Way\, Culpeper\, VA  22701\, which must be received with the mandatory filing fee not later than 6:00PM pm on Friday\, April 19th\, 2019. Postmarks will not govern. The Candidate Consent Form can be obtained from Barby Mouring or her agent at 13240 Windmill Way\, Culpeper\, VA 22701 and online at www.culpepergop.org (specified web page for forms). If not more than one person files and is qualified for nomination in any given district\, that person shall be declared the Republican Nominee for that district\, and the Party Canvass will be held and pertain only to the other districts.
