CITY OF WINCHESTER: Stonewall District Ruritan Building – 155 Fairground\nRd.\, Clearbrook\, VA 22624 \nQualifications for Participation \nAll legal and qualified voters of the 27th Senate District under the laws of the\nCommonwealth of Virginia\, regardless of race\, religion\, national origin or sex\, who are in\naccord with the principles of the Republican Party and who\, if requested\, express in open\nmeeting either orally or in writing as may be required\, their intent to support all of its\nnominees for public office in the ensuing election\, may participate as members of the\nRepublican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings\, party canvasses\, conventions or\nprimaries encompassing their respective election districts.\nIn addition to the foregoing\, to be in accord with the principles of the Republican Party\, a\nperson otherwise qualified hereunder shall not have participated in Virginia in the\nnomination process of a party other than the Republican Party with in the last five years. A\nsingle exception shall be approved for a voter that renounces affiliation with any other\nparty in writing\, and who expresses in writing that he or she is in accord with the principles\nof the Republican Party and intends to support the nominees of the Republican Party in\nthe future. A voter who utilizes the foregoing exception\, and thereafter participates in the\nnomination process of a party other than the Republican Party\, shall not have the benefit\nof the exception identified in this paragraph thereafter. The 27th Senatorial District\nRepublican Committee will provide a copy of all signed renunciation statements to the\nRepublican Party of Virginia\, to be maintained for a period of five years.\nAny voter who\, subsequent to making a statement of intent\, publicly supports a candidate\nin opposition to a Republican nominee is not qualified to participate as a member of the\nRepublican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings\, party canvasses\, conventions\, or\nprimaries for a period of four (4) years. \nBalloting \nBalloting will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will end at 2:00 p.m.\, except that anyone in the\nregistration line at 2:00 p.m. may continue the registration process. In order to receive a\nballot\, the voter must present a valid\, non-expired photo identification issued by the\nCommonwealth of Virginia\, one of its political subdivisions\, or the United States\ngovernment.\nA statement of intent\, properly completed and signed by the voter\, must be submitted at\nthe time of registration. No ballot will be given to any voter who has not signed and\nsubmitted this statement of intent.\nNo absentee voting\, proxies\, or provisional ballots are permitted.\nNo registration fees are required for voting in this party canvass.\nVotes will NOT be weighted\, and will be counted only for those candidates whose names\nappear on the official ballot. No write-in votes will be permitted. Any ballot with more than\none candidate name marked will be declared invalid. \nCandidate Filing Requirements \nAny person seeking election as the 27th Senate District Republican Nominee for Member\,\nSenate of Virginia must submit a completed and signed Official Filing Form\, along with a\nnon-refundable filing fee of $720.00 (Seven Hundred and Twenty dollars)\, paid by valid\ncheck or money order\, not later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday\, November 8\, 2017.\nSubmissions may be made by mail to Andrew M.
