Former Vice-President Joe Biden is rumored to have plans to announce his 2020 presidential campaign in Charlottesville this week. If Joe is to come to our Commonwealth just to become the twenty-something Democrat candidate, he should answer some questions.
Would he be willing to campaign with Governor Ralph Northam or Attorney General Mark Herring, given their recent blackface scandals?
- Biden may have a problem answering this question because he too has a history of racist comments and actions. In 2007, Biden said of Barack Obama, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
Would he be willing to campaign with Justin Fairfax, given the accusations of rape leveled against the Lieutenant Governor?
- Again, Biden may struggle answering this question. As we are all uncomfortably aware, Joe Biden has a history of making women uncomfortable and acting generally creepy.
Does he support Del. Kathy Tran’s third trimester abortion bill?
- Another questions that might be difficult for Biden. In 2003, Biden voted in support of S.3 – the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. Biden’s buddy Terry McAuliffe shamefully flip-flopped on his position, so it would not be a surprise if Biden followed suit.
“Another Democrat is running for president? I am shocked,” said RPV Chairman Jack Wilson. “Joe Biden needs to answer the hard questions if he wants to represent Virginia from the White House.”
