Richmond, VA – People all over Virginia are seeing the benefits of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Walmart, Wells Fargo, and AT&T (just to name a few) have all either raised wages or offered generous bonuses to their employees as a direct result of tax reform.
But not everyone is happy that Virginians are getting bigger paychecks and better benefits. Senator Tim Kaine voted in lock step with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to stop this tax cut from happening. They won’t stop trashing the benefits of this reform, either. Democrats continue to call the higher wages and bonuses Americans are seeing “crumbs.”
Apparently, Democrats don’t have a good idea what “crumbs” really are. To help, we’re sending Senator Kaine a crumb cake to show him what crumbs actually look like. We wanted to let him know much Virginians appreciate their vote against high wages and better jobs.
RPV Chairman John Whitbeck issued the following statement regarding Senator Kaine’s continued fight against bigger paychecks and better benefits:
“There is apparently no amount of positivity resulting from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to make Democrats like Senator Kaine realize that bigger paychecks, bonuses, and better benefits for workers in Virginia are a good thing. Since Democrats from all over have compared bonuses and raises from companies across the Commonwealth to crumbs, we’d like to set the record straight. Hopefully the crumb cake we’re sending him today will help them realize the difference between crumbs and the real, tangible benefits of tax cuts for Virginia workers.”
