RPV Statement on Election Night Results
Richmond, VA – Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Rich Anderson issued the following statement on last night’s election results:
“I first want to thank every single one of our candidates for putting themselves on the frontlines of our fight for freedom and liberty this year. I know firsthand the dedication, work, blood, sweat, and tears it takes to run for office. Virginia thanks you, and I hope to see each of you stay in the fight to take back our Commonwealth.
“Republicans put Virginia on the map last night, and not one of us should bemoan the ultimate result. Through a combination of our unprecedented ground game and President Trump’s proven record of leadership, we made Virginia a battleground once again.
“It’s no secret that Republicans haven’t had the most success here in recent years. That fact is not lost on me or any Virginia Republican. But guess what? We’re. Coming. Back. We have laid the groundwork for decades of future success here in Virginia. The fight is far from over.
“While we don’t yet know the final results of the Presidential Election, I am confident that President Trump’s record will propel him to an eventual victory – despite Democrats’ best attempts to manufacture votes in key states.
“My final message to you is simple: the fight for Virginia is not over. There are 363 days until we elect a Republican governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and 100 members of the House of Delegates. It’s time to fight and win again.”
