Over the past year, the Democratic Party of Virginia has begun to embrace the anti-Semitic attitudes of some of their candidates. Not counting national figures, the DPVA wholeheartedly supported Leslie Cockburn (Dem Congressional candidate) and Ibraheem Samirah (Dem Delegate), even AFTER it was revealed that they both were virulent anti-Semites.
Leslie Cockburn – Cockburn has a long history of anti-Semitic rhetoric which can be documented over at least the past 25 years. In the early 1990s, Cockburn co-authored Dangerous Liaison: The Inside Story of the U.S.-Israeli Covert Relationship. Cockburn’s book advocated for the inherently anti-Semitic belief that Israel controls America’s foreign policy.
Ibraheem Samirah – Samirah said that sending aid to Israel was worse than funding the KKK. Samirah also dismissed the Holocaust because it occurred “thousands of miles away” from his family.
“Anti-Semitism is rising in this country at an alarming rate, especially on the left,” said RPV Chairman Jack Wilson. “The DPVA didn’t denounce Cockburn or Samirah, and that should tell you something.”
