Electing Delegates to the State Convention

Issued: March 18, 2021

As Chairman of the of the Republican Party of Norfolk Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended by the Committee, I, Robert Brown, do hereby issue this call to elect delegates to the May 8, 2021, State Convention at which candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General will be selected between 9 am and 4 pm.

Qualifications for Participation

All legal and qualified voters of Norfolk under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Filing Requirements

Those wishing to serve as delegates to the State Convention shall file the form available at norfolkgop.org, and https://virginia.gop/2021-nomination/ which must be received no later than April 12th at 5PM regardless of postal mark date. Filing forms submitted by email must be digitally signed or paper copy signed and scanned in PDF.

Pursuant to Art. VII and Art. XII of the Party Plan, all individuals who qualify under Art. I will be declared elected and no mass meeting, party canvass or convention will be held to elect delegates.

Registration Fee

There will be no registration fee to a delegate to the State Convention.

Publication

This call will be published at https://norfolkgop.org/and https://virginia.gop/2021-nomination/  . The Unit Committee has eliminated the requirement to publish this call in a newspaper of general circulation by a two-thirds vote.
