Bath County GOP Mass Meeting

Official Call for a Mass Meeting of the Bath County Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia

As Chairman of the Bath County Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, David Fisher, do hereby issue this notice and call for a Mass Meeting. To be held at the Bath County Courthouse at 65 Courthouse Hill Road, Warm Springs, Virginia 24484 starting at 6pm on Thursday April 15,2021.

The purpose on the Mass Meeting is to elect Delegates and Alternates to represent Bath County at the Republican State Convention that will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at multiple polling places across Virginia.

At the Convention, Delegates will elect candidates for State-wide offices.

The Convention polling place for Bath County Republican Delegates and Alternates shall be the Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, in Verona, Virginia. The polling place shall be open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.

By a Special Amendment to the State Party Plan, the Mass Meeting shall automatically elect all those persons who are eligible and who pre-file to be Delegates and Alternates, without any limit to the number. Eligibility requirements are found in the “Qualifications” paragraph below.

Because all persons who file to be Delegates and Alternates shall be automatically elected, and because there is no other business to be transacted, the Mass Meeting shall not meet.

Qualifications for Participation

All legal and qualified voters of Bath County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Filing Requirements

Persons who seek to be elected as Convention Delegates and Alternates are required to file a form by US Mail or by physically hand-delivering to David Fisher, the Chairman of the Bath County Republican Committee. The form must be received no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, April 9, 2021. The form for pre-filing to be a Convention Delegate is attached to this Call. Postmarks do not govern.
