Bedford County Canvass for County Treasurer

OFFICIAL CALL
Party Canvass of Bedford County Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia
As Chairman of the Bedford County Republican Committee of the Republican Party, and
pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I,
Nathan Boyer, do hereby issue this call for a Party Canvass to be held at the Bedford Central
Library located at 321 N. Bridge St Bedford VA 24523 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on
Thursday, July 12th, 2018 for the following purpose:
a) Nominating a Republican candidate for the office of Treasurer of Bedford County to be
voted for in the Special Election on November 6, 2018.
Qualifications for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of Bedford County under the laws of the Commonwealth of
Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles
of the Republican Party and who express in writing their intent to support all of its nominees for
public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of
Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their
respective election districts.
Filing Requirements
Candidates for the nomination at said canvass shall file a written statement by mail or in person,
to Veronica Shikoski at 303 Westwood Dr., Forest, VA 24551, which must be received not later
than 5:00 P.M. Saturday, June 23, 2018, postmarks shall not govern. If not more than one person
shall file for nomination as Treasurer, then such properly filed person shall be declared
nominated, and no canvass will be held. Candidates shall remit a filing fee of 1,600.00 with the
written notice of candidacy. Checks should be made payable to Republican Party of Bedford.
Candidates shall also express in writing their intention to support all the nominees of the
Republican Party of Virginia in the ensuing 2018 election.
Registration Fee
There will be NO registration fee to participate in this canvass.
