OFFICIAL CALL

UNIT CONVENTION AND MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT MASS MEETINGS OF THE NEW KENT COUNTY COMMITTEE OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF VIRGINIA

UNIT CONVENTION

As Chairman of the New Kent County Republican Committee, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Mark Daniel, do hereby issue this call for a Unit Convention to be held at New Kent High School, 7365 Egypt Rd, New Kent VA 23124-2471, or its alternate site, starting at 10:00 AM, with registration to begin at 9:00 AM, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, for the following purposes:

a) Electing a Unit Chairman;
b) Electing up to three hundred sixty (360) Members of the New Kent County Republican

Committee, as follows: • District 1 – 80;
• District 2 – 80;
• District 3 – 65;

• District 4 – 65;
• District 5 – 70;
• The number of members elected at the Convention shall constitute the maximum

number of New Kent County Republican Committee members allowed through the term ending with the next reorganization in 2026. New members may be elected as vacancies occur.

c) Electing up to three hundred sixty-five (365) Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the 1st Congressional District Convention to be held at King William High

School starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2024, for the following purposes: • Electing a District Chairman;
• Electing three (3) Members of the State Central Committee of the Republican Party

of Virginia;
• Nominating one (1) Elector to be voted for in the presidential election on November

5, 2024; and
• For the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the

Convention.
• Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per two hundred fifty (250) Republican

votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that New Kent County is

entitled to seventy-three (73) Delegate Votes.
d) Electing up to three hundred sixty-five (365) Delegates and an equal number of

Alternates to the State Convention to be held at the Hampton Roads Convention Center starting at 2:30 PM on Friday, May 31, 2024, and 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, for the following purposes:
• Electing a State Chairman;

• Electing a National Committeeman and a National Committeewoman; • Nominating two (2) Electors At-Large to be voted for in the presidential election on November 5, 2024; and
• For the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the

Convention.

UNIT CONVENTION AND MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT MASS MEETINGS OF THE NEW KENT COUNTY COMMITTEE OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

• Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per two hundred fifty (250) Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that New Kent County is entitled to seventy-three (73) Delegate Votes.

e) For the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the convention.
