Pittsylvania GOP Mass Meeting

OFFICIAL CALL

Mass Meeting of the Pittsylvania County Republican Committee

As Chairman of the Pittsylvania County Committee of the Republican Party of

Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and

directed by the Committee, I, William A. Pace, do hereby issue this call for a Mass

Meeting to be held in the General District Court Room, Chatham, VA, starting at

7:00 PM local time on Thursday, March 30, 2017 for the following purposes:

Nominating Republican Candidates for the following offices of the County of

Pittsylvania:

Board of Supervisors – one for each of the three Magisterial Districts

Banister

Callands-Gretna

Dan River

Successful Candidates to be the Republican Nominees voted for in the Virginia

General Election on November 7, 2017 and for the transaction of such other

business as may properly come before the Mass Meeting.

Qualifications for Participation:

All legal and qualified voters of the Banister, Callands-Gretna and Dan River

Magisterial Districts within Pittsylvania County under the laws of the

Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or sex,

who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if

requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required,

their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election,

may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in this Mass

Meeting of the Pittsylvania County Republican Committee.

Candidate Filing Requirements:

For election or nomination at said Mass Meeting, candidates shall file a written

statement of intent by mail or in person, to Will Pace, Chairman, P.O. Box 212,

Chatham, VA 24531, or by email to [email protected] which must be

received not later than Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 7:00 PM. It is the

responsibility of the candidate to confirm receipt of the statement of intent by the

Registration Fee:

There will be NO registration fee to participate in this Mass Meeting.

Should only one candidate file for each office, the Mass Meeting may be cancelled

by the Chairman. Should the Mass Meeting be cancelled, all candidates are elected

the Republican Nominees for their respective offices by acclamation.
