Smyth Co. Party Canvass

As Chairman of the Smyth County Republican Committee, and pursuant to the
Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Adam L.
Tolbert, do hereby issue this call for a Party Canvass (“party-run primary”) to be held at
the Adwolfe Volunteer Fire Department, 104 Thomas Bridge Rd., Marion, Virginia (or its
alternate site), beginning at 10:00AM local time and ending at 2:00PM local time on
Saturday, May 6, 2023 for the following purposes:
1) Nominating a Republican candidate for each of the following Smyth County
Constitutional Offices to be voted upon in the November 7, 2023 General Election:
Clerk of the Circuit Court, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Sheriff, Treasurer, and
Commissioner of the Revenue.
2) Nominating Republican candidates for the Smyth County Board of Supervisors to
be voted upon in the November 7, 2023 General Election in the Atkins, North Fork,
Park, and Rye Valley election districts.
