NEW POLL: Virginia Democrat Policies Are Deeply Unpopular

A new poll of 1,000 Virginia voters conducted by Wick Research for the League of American Workers confirms what Virginians already know: the Democrat agenda is deeply out of step with working families.

While Virginia Democrats remain focused on appeasing their progressive base, everyday voters are overwhelmingly focused on affordability—the top issue for 43% of respondents, more than double the next highest issue. As Democrats remain fixated on unpopular far-left priorities like allowing men to compete on women’s sports teams and letting violent criminals out of prison early, most Virginians want their leaders to focus on putting more money back in their family’s wallet.

Here is how bad things are for Virginia Democrats:

  • 58% of Virginians – including 76 percent of Independents – want to eliminate the car tax—a wildly unpopular policy that Virginia Democrats continue to defend. Another 22% want it reduced. Just 12% support keeping it. Lt. Governor Sears and Virginia Republicans have pledged to eliminate “the most hated tax” if elected.
  • Only 33% support giving convicted violent felons the right to vote—a top priority of Virginia Democrats in the General Assembly and Virginia Democrat Attorney General nominee Jay Jones.
  • On immigration, 57% credit President Trump with securing the border, including nearly a quarter of Kamala Harris voters.
  • In deep-blue Northern Virginia, supposedly the heart of liberal strength in our Commonwealth, the Democrat brand is in trouble, with a 48-48% split on favorability. In Eastern Virginia, 65% view the Democrat Party unfavorably.

From crime to taxes to immigration, Virginians are rejecting the failed, far-left policies of the Democrat Party. This November, Republicans are clearly the party of “common sense.” Voters who want great schools, good jobs, and safe streets know that the Republican ticket is the only one with a track record of delivering on those priorities.
