RICHMOND – The Republican Party of Virginia released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address:
“Tonight, despite record inflation, soaring gas prices, a border crisis, a crime wave, and numerous foreign policy disasters under his watch—including the ongoing tragedy in Ukraine—Joe Biden tried to sell his first year in office as a success. The truth, however, as the American people know, is that Biden’s tenure has been nothing short of an unmitigated failure.
In the Republican response to Biden’s address, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds presented a clear contrast to the America last policies of the Biden administration. The Republican vision for our country is of a strong nation that stands firm on its principles and protects its people and interests.
Virginians have seen first-hand what this type of leadership looks like since Governor Youngkin, Lieutenant Governor Sears, and Attorney General Miyares took office this January. If Joe Biden truly wants to make our country better, he should abandon his partisan power grab and follow Governor Youngkin’s example.
This November, Virginia will help send a new class of conservative leaders to Washington to take back control of Congress and finally put an end to the Biden-Schumer-Pelosi progressive crusade.”
