Nottoway County Mass Meeting

As Chairman of the Nottoway County Republican Committee, a unit of the Republican Party of Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and, as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, William J. Outlaw, do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at Mitchell’s Restaurant, 403 North Main Street, Blackstone Virginia 23824, starting at 7:00 PM local time on Thursday, April 7, 2022, for the following purposes:

1. To elect 150 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Fifth Congressional District 2022 Convention, to be held at Kirby Field House, Hampden Sydney College, Hampden Sydney, Virginia on May 21, 2022 for the purpose of nominating a Republican candidate for the Fifth Congressional District of Virginia to be elected at the General Election to be held on November 8, 2022. This Call shall be published on the RPV website, and by such other means as may be required by the Party Plan.
2.  To elect a Unit Chairman and Officers of the NCRC.
3. The transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Mass Meeting.

Qualifications for Participation

All legal and qualified voters under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, and who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party, and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing, as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions, or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Military Members who declare via electronic mail to the Chairman of the Official Committee calling the Convention or his designee in the Call, that because of the obligations of their official military orders, they are unable to attend their respective Unit Mass Meeting, Canvass or Convention called for the purpose of selecting delegates to that Convention, and that in lieu of selecting delegates to represent them from their respective Unit they instead wish to be represented by the Military Delegation, shall be entitled to representation via the Military Delegation. Such e-mail declaration shall include attached a signed statement of intent and affirmation of their official military orders precluding their attendance, and their e-mail address for correspondence. The Call for the Convention shall provide Military Members the deadline and e-mail address by which to send their declarations. The Chairman or his designee shall respond via e-mail to each Military Member to confirm the receipt of such e-mail declaration.
