ICYMI – Virginia receives more than one million pieces of PPE from national stockpile
Richmond, VA – This week, the Trump Administration delivered over one million pieces of PPE to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Yet Governor Northam has continued to pin blame for Virginia’s shortcomings on President Trump and his administration.
Why hasn’t Virginia’s press corps grilled Governor Northam like the White House Press Corps grills President Trump? We know that the President’s team has been in contact with members of the media here in Richmond, and we hope that Northam’s platitudes will no longer go unchallenged.
Virginia receives more than one million pieces of PPE from national stockpile
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has delivered hundreds of thousands of pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to Virginia in an effort to support hospitals in the battle against COVID-19.
So far, FEMA has delivered 214,389 N-95 masks, 510,222 surgical masks, 82,621 medical gowns, 2,056 coveralls, 101,035 face shields, and 386,975 gloves from the Strategic National Stockpile to Virginia.
The Agency has also obligated $200.2 M for Virginia to respond to COVID-19 and will continue to obligate additional dollars per state requests.
Still, hospitals across the state continue to face PPE shortages, and are asking businesses with supplies of PPE to donate.
