Party Canvass of the Suffolk City Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia (Adopted February 22, 2024)

As Chairman of the Suffolk City Committee of the Republican Party, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Stephen G. Trent, do hereby issue this call for a Party Canvass to be held at Kings Fork Ruritan Club, 1600 Kings Fork Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 (or a like location chosen by the Chairman of the Suffolk Republican Party) from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024, for the following purposes:

a) Electing a Unit Chairman;

b) Electing other officers; including, a Vice Chairman, a Secretary, and a Treasurer;

c) Electing up to 38 members of the Suffolk Republican City Committee

d) Electing up to 750 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Republican Party of Virginia STATE Convention, to be held at the Hampton Roads Convention Center on May 31 and June 1, 2024, for the following purposes:

1. Selecting two Electors At-Large to be voted for in the presidential election on November 5, 2024;

2. Electing a State Chairman;
3. Nominating a National Committeeman and National Committeewoman;

4. and for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Convention.

Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per 250 Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that Suffolk is entitled to 150 Delegate Votes.

e) Electing up to 750 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT Convention, to be held at WAVE Church, 1000 Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia or an alternate site determined at the discretion of the chairman, starting at Noon local time on Saturday April 27, 2024 with registration beginning at 10 AM to Noon for the following purposes:

1. Electing a Chairman for the 2nd Congressional District of the Republican Party of Virginia.

2. Electing three Members of the State Central Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia.

Paid for and authorized by the Republican Party of Suffolk.

3. Electing a Republican Candidate for Elector for President and Vice President of the United States for the election to be held on November 5, 2024.

4. For the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the convention.

Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per 250 Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that Suffolk is entitled to 150 Delegate Votes.
