Luria & Spanberger: “Let Them Eat Ice Cream”
Richmond, VA – In an unsurprising display of petty partisan politics, Elaine Luria and Abigail Spanberger allowed the Paycheck Protection Program to run out of life-saving funds for small businesses.
While Luria and Spanberger pretend to care about their constituents when they are in their Districts, all of that seemingly takes a backseat when they get to Washington.
In fact, while jobs and lives were getting ripped apart, Virginia Democrats’ boss, Nancy Pelosi, channeled her inner Marie Antoinette and ate $13 ice cream in front of a $20,000 freezer.
“It is incredibly disappointing to watch Virginia Democrats treat emergency funding for Americans’ paychecks like some sort of political football that they can’t be bothered to support,” said RPV Chairman Jack Wilson. “Funding a bipartisan program should not be a partisan issue. The Democrats are in for a rough 2020 if their message is that working Virginians are not more important than partisan games.”
